TAIEX Peer Review Mission on the Prevention and Repression of Drugs Abuse in BiH

The European Commission and the BiH Directorate for European Integration organised a TAIEX Peer Review Mission on the Prevention and Repression of Drugs Abuse in Bosnia and Herzegovina from 24 to 28 September 2018.

The aim of the mission is to provide the European Commission and the BiH authorities with an assessment based on European standards regarding the relevant strategic, legal and institutional framework throughout the country and Bosnia and Herzegovina’s cooperation with the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drugs Addiction.

The mission has been conducted by two experts from Croatia with a long experience in the field, who have discussed with the competent authorities from all levels as well as with representatives of the civil society organisations.

Their assessment will result in an independent expert report with clear recommendations for the BiH authorities. The expert report will also contribute to the preparation of the Opinion of the European Commission on the application of Bosnia and Herzegovina for EU membership.
