The Office of the EU Special Representative in BiH will support this year’s International Theatre Festival ‘Bihac Summer Fest 2015′. The Festival is taking place in Bihac for the 17th consecutive year and is one of the largest theatre festivals in the country.
Head of the EU Delegation and EU Special Representative in BiH, Ambassador Lars-Gunnar Wigemark, said:
“Culture and arts are foundations of our common European identity and BiH’s achievements in these fields are important at a European level. This is why we are happy to be a part of one of the most significant cultural events in the country. The festival gathers actors and directors from across the region, offers 11 days of with high-quality plays and enriches the cultural life here.”
Director of Bihac Cultural Centre, Mr. Mujaga Dedic, organizer of the Festival, said:
“We perceive EUSR’s support as the recognition for our hard work and quality of our festival. This is an excellent example of how the EU supports development of theatre not only in BiH but in the Western Balkans region as well since we are a regional festival for a long time now.”
The Bihac Summer Festival 2015 was opened on June 6 and lasted for 11 days. Apart from theatre plays, the festival hosted concerts, book promotions and film screenings.
