Reports Project to Bring More EU Information to Citizens

The Office of the European Union Special Representative (EUSR) in partnership with public broadcasters in Bosnia and Herzegovina launched today a special programme of reports that aims to inform citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) about the impact of the European integration process on the quality of their day-to-day lives, today and in the future.

Public broadcasters with the support of the EUSR Office will produce news items on projects related to European Union integration, developing an EU coordination mechanism, the priorities which must be met in order to have the Stabilisation and Association Agreement put fully into force, and the implications of Croatian accession to the EU among others.

Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Bosnia and Herzegovina and EU Special Representative Peter Sorensen said:

“It is vitally important that the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina are well informed about the opportunities and challenges of the EU integration process. Our colleagues in the media are key partners in ensuring they can receive this information. We are looking forward to this close collaboration in the months ahead for the benefit of all the citizens.”

The news reports from the project will form part of the main news programmes of Radio-Television of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Radio-Television of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Radio-Television of Republika Srpska. They will be broadcast on both radio and television.

EU reportages will be available online via Facebook (www.facebook.com/europa.ba) and on the EU Delegation to BiH/EUSR web site: www.europa.ba
