Traditional race „Run for Europe held“ – First Year for “Junior” race

One hundred runners took part in the traditional ‘Run for Europe’ senior race on Sunday 6 May. A new event was introduced this year – the ‘Junior’ race for ages 6 – 12 year olds. Twenty children from the smallest to the oldest joined in the fun. Winners of all races are listed below but a special award was made to the Mjedenica School for their ‘team’ effort.
Awards to the best ranked runners in the category of juniors – boys were given by Andy McGuffie, Head of Communication at EU Delegation/EU Special Representative. Awards for the category of junior – girls were given by Marina Kavaz-Sircic, Spokesperson for BiH Directorate for European Integration (DEI).
Awards to the best ranked runners in the category of seniors –women were given by Knut Scheutz, EUFOR Chief Public Affairs Officer. Awards to the best ranked runners in the category of seniors – men were given by Mrs Nevenka Savic, Director of BiH Directorate for European Integration (DEI).
A special thank you to Sarajevski  Kiseljak  for their kind donation of water for the event and to Red Bull for donating the start/finish gate. Also thanks to the Athletic Union of BiH for their excellent organisation in the marshalling, judging and time recording.
