Over 400 guests, representatives of the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, international community, NGOs, sectoral and cultural associations and media, were welcomed to the EU House by Ambassador Peter Sorensen, Head of the Delegation of the European Union/European Union Special Representative and his staff at the official reception held on the occasion of Europe Day, 9 May. The reception was opened by the European Union anthem “Ode to Joy” performed by the string orchestra from the Music School “Mladen Pozajic”, Sarajevo, and followed by the welcome speech of Ambassador Sorensen. The Delegation of the European Union to Bosnia and Herzegovina has been marking the EU’s ‘birthday’ since 1997. This year as well, Europe Day has been celebrated throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina with a series of ‘Europe Week’ events and activities.
