Financial Agreement For IPA 2011 Signed

Bosnia and Herzegovina and the European Commission signed an agreement for the State Financial Assistance program IPA (Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance) 2011, in the amount of 91.28 million Euros. Signing of Agreement allows implementing the procedures of procurement, contracting and execution of projects under the program for Pre-Accession of the European Union.

Most of the funds in the State Assistance Program IPA 2011 have been allocated for the environmental sector, amounting to 16 million Euros. Public administration reform, judicial reform, public finance management, entrepreneurship development and social inclusion are some of the areas where the implementation of projects are planned.

Under the provisions of the Financial Agreement, the contracting of the projects under the State Assistance Program IPA 2011 should be completed within three years from the signing of the Agreement, while the deadline for the implementation of the projects is two years from the signing of the contract.

On behalf of the beneficiaries-domestic institutions, all procedures such as conducting procurement procedures, contracting of projects and payments are done by the Delegation of the European Union to BiH within the centralized implementation system of IPA funds which is being used in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
