Ambassador Sorensen visits Visoko

The Head of the EU Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina/EUSR, Ambassador Peter Sorensen, visited Visoko on Wednesday, 06 November 2013.

Ambassador Sorensen met with the Mayor of Visoko, Amra Babic and Speaker of the Municipal Council, Mirela Matesa Bukva.

Talking to media after the meeting Ambassador Sorensen said:

“This successful municipal administration is led by women, which is a positive example for the entire country. The aim of our visit in Visoko today is to get first hand information on the situation in the city, and more specifically to hear about concrete plans regarding the business environment and export oriented companies, and of course to get to know the character of the town better. Visoko has some of the best known companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina and some of the most important exporters are located here. I know that this area has a reputation, even outside Bosnia and Herzegovina, as being business-oriented.”

In addition to meeting municipal authorities, Ambassador Sorensen met with representatives of the local business community and visited the business and industrial zones in Visoko.

Ambassador Sorensen and his hosts also visited the most important historical site of Visoko – the crowning site of medieval Bosnian kings, Mile.
