Head of EU Delegation in BiH and EU Special Representative, Ambassador Peter Sorensen, participated in the presentation of 2012-2103 White Book organized by the Foreign Investors Council (FIC) today in Sarajevo. The aim of the White Book is to identify and suggest key strategic reforms that need to be undertaken by the BiH authorities at all levels in order to improve the overall business environment to attract further foreign investments.
Speaking at the presentation, Ambassador Sorensen said:
“Let me stress that the reason for my support to the White Book is not only that it seems to agree with the European Union on issues. But more importantly, this contribution is input from people and organisations with real and detailed experience in the investment and business environment in Bosnia and Herzegovina, many with similar expertise from doing business in the EU. The experience has been analysed and turned into specific recommendations that can then feed into the public debate on help to improve the business governance of this country. This is civil society participation of a high calibre, which I would like to see echoed in many other sectors in Bosnia and Herzegovina.”
The FIC’s presentation was attended by representatives of business community, financial institutions and international organizations in BiH.
President of FIC, Branimir Muidza, said:
“Together with both entity governments and the BiH Council of Ministers, we have already actioned a set of legislative proposals. We hope, therefore, to remain an ally and partner to all BiH authorities in improving the business environment in BiH.”
The FIC was founded in 2006 as a non-profit association aiming to act as ‘one voice’ of all foreign investors in BiH and to help and advise all prospective foreign investors. The members of FIC invested over 4 billion Euro so far and employ over 10,000 workers.
