Deputy Head EU Delegation, Dr. Daviddi, and EU diplomats visit Jablanica

The Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to BiH, Dr. Renzo Daviddi, the Polish Ambassador, Andrzej Krawczyk, the Swedish Ambassador, Fredrik Schiller, and the Deputy Head of Czech Embassy, Slavomir Goga, visited Jablanica today.

The visit provided an opportunity for the EU Delegation and diplomats from EU Member States to discuss EU related issues with the local authorities and with local civil society.

Following the meeting with the Mayor, Salem Dedic, and the Municipal Council Speaker, Damir Sabanovic, Dr. Daviddi said:

“I am glad to see that the Jablanica Municipality, known for its historic, cultural and natural heritage, is well organised and well run. The aim of our visit today is to better understand the situation in the municipality and to hear about future plans regarding the business environment, tourism development and also to meet with young people here in Jablanica to hear their thoughts on the European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina.”

Dr. Daviddi and his colleagues also visited hydro plant ‘Jablanica’ and met with the representatives of the Youth Club ‘Under the Same Sun’ (‘Pod istim suncem’). The club is currently one of six NGOs participating in the EU-funded project ‘Network for active communities’ (‘Mreža za aktivne zajednice’), which aims to increase young people’s participation in the development  of their local communities and to facilitate the interaction of young people and other marginalised categories with local government.
