“Zabranjeni forum”: Is unemployment linked to education?

Bosnia and Herzegovina has one of the highest rates of unemployment in the region.

It is said that a main cause is an inadequate orientation of education in the country, which is neither sufficiently aligned with the current needs of the labour market nor with European standards.

The framework legislation, strategies and Baseline Qualifications Framework all need to be further developed and implemented.

The 2013 EC Progress Report considered the establishment of links between the labour market and the education system as a priority in order to better contribute to the development of a knowledge based economy.

The EUSR therefore sponsored the popular talk show programme ‘Zabranjeni forum’ on TV Pink BiH with the theme “Can the education system in this country be better aligned with the needs of labour market?”
