The slogan of the Researchers Night this year is „Sign for science“, expressing the intention of the organiser to draw better attention of citizens to science, research and innovation achievements that surround them, with the use of the traffic signs as the motif.

European Researchers’ Night is supported by the European Union, through its framework programme Horizon 2020. Since it’s beginning in 2005. Researcher’s Night is organised every last Friday in September, aiming to promote scientific research, encourage young people to choose careers as researchers and to raise the awareness of the general public on the importance and influence of the science in our everyday lives.

Since its beginnings, Researchers’ Night is celebrated in more European towns each year. Last year, 2013, over 370 towns in 32 European countries joined together to celebrate science.
