COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION Brussels, 26 July 2006 12020/06 (Presse 229) The Council adopted, by written procedure, a joint action amending the mandate of the EU Special Representative (EUSR) in Bosnia and Herzegovina (11450/06). The mandate of the EUSR in BiH, Christian Schwarz-Schilling, has been modified to include, as a policy objective, support to planning for a reinforced EUSR office in the context of the closure of the Office of the High Representative, foreseen on 30 June 2007. The financial reference amount intended to cover the expenditure related to the mandate of the EUSR is EUR 1 million. The Council appointed Christian Schwarz-Schilling, who is also High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as the EUSR in BiH on 30 January 2006.
