Transcript of the International Agencies’ Joint Press Conference in Banja Luka

The HR/EUSR, Miroslav Lajcak, is in Vienna today, where he will address OSCE Permanent Council. In his speech to the Permanent Council, Miroslav Lajcak will address current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and where the country is at the moment in the process of European integrations, all this in light of failure of police reform talks, as this was one of the key preconditions for SAA.

The HR/EUSR, Miroslav Lajcak, will repeat his conviction that the European road is the only way to achieve long-term stability in the region, and the best road to take for Bosnia and Herzegovina. After politicians in Bosnia and Herzegovina failed to achieve agreement that would lead to signing of the SAA, it is necessary to create new dynamics in the political life of the country, which would not only facilitate a SAA, but also consolidation of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a law-abiding, functional and stable country. At this moment, the international community must focus on the implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement.

In his speech, the HR/EUSR will also talk about amending the Law on Council of Ministers, the rationale of which was to tackle the dysfunctional of state institutions, and his future endeavors to acquaint Bah public more fully about benefits of the European road.

The full text of the speech of the HR/EUSR Miroslav Lajcak will be available on EUSR website later today.
