The European Night of Museums in Banja Luka

The European Night of Museums will be celebrated by the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Republika Srpska in Banja Luka on Saturday, 19 May thanks to the support of the European Union.

Head of the EU Office in Banja Luka Alexandra Wagner said that the EU has supported the Museum’s celebration of the European Night of Museums in previous two years.

“This year’s event is of special importance for all of us. The Museum’s celebration of the Night of Museums will focus on the EU-supported exhibition ‘Punktumi’, as part of the European Year of Cultural Heritage”, said Wagner during the press conference announcing the event.

She pointed to the importance of both the Night of Museums program and the “Punktumi” exhibition.

“I am sure that each individual artwork displayed here in the Museum can teach us a lot about the history and spirit of Banja Luka and Europe, thus building a necessary bridge between our past and our future,” she added.

The goal of the European Year of Cultural Heritage is to encourage more people to discover and engage with Europe’s cultural heritage and the EU will support a series of initiatives and events across Europe to celebrate our cultural heritage, discover our diversity and start an inter-cultural conversation about what we have in common.
