Support to BiH population hit by 2014 floods continues: Preliminary lists of beneficiaries

Please be informed that the Preliminary lists of beneficiaries of the EU funded project for construction and rehabilitation of housing units destroyed or damaged in 2014 floods have been published. Preliminary lists consist of the households that obtained the most points following their application to the Public Call for beneficiary selection as part of the second phase of Programme for Housing Interventions. In total, 3,950 households applied to the Public Call that was open from 9 October to 9 November, 2017.

Selection of beneficiaries was conducted by the municipal/city Commissions comprising of representatives of partner local governments, Center for social work, Local community, non-government organization active in the selected area, along with the representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in BiH or implementing partners.

Preliminary lists of housing beneficiaries can be found at:

  • information boards at local government premises, as well as centers for social work;
  • UNDP in BiH website: ba.undp.org;
  • official websites of the selected cities and municipalities.

Deadline for appeals is 14 days following the publication of preliminary lists. Appeals are to be submitted in written form to the respective local government.  The final list of beneficiaries will be made available publicly after the appeals have been adjudicated.

Programme for Housing Interventions supports self-sustainable recovery through provision of housing units and economic strengthening of socially vulnerable population whose homes were damaged or destroyed in 2014 floods and landslides. Programme, valued at EUR 15 million, is financed by the European Union in the amount of EUR 12.5 million, in cooperation with Government of Federation of BiH, Government of Republika Srpska, local authorities of partner cities and municipalities, and UNDP in BiH.

Programme for Housing Interventions is implemented by UNDP in BiH, in cooperation with International Organisation for Migration (IOM), Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund (ASB), Hilfswerk International Austria (HWA) and partner local governments.  Programme is being implemented in 44 municipalities/cities: Banja Luka, Bijeljina, Bratunac, Brod, Cazin, Doboj, Doboj Istok, Domaljevac-Šamac, Donji Žabar, Goražde, Gračanica, Gradiška, Jezero, Kakanj, Kalesija, Kostajnica, Laktaši, Lopare, Maglaj, Modriča, Novi Grad, Odžak, Orašje, Petrovo, Prijedor, Prnjavor, Sapna, Srbac, Srebrenik, Šamac, Šekovići, Šipovo, Teslić, Tešanj, Travnik, Tuzla, Ugljevik, Vareš, Vlasenica, Vogošća, Zavidovići, Zenica, Zvornik and Žepče.
