Motivational Days: Youth in BiH often find it more important to have a job than to like it

One of the first major issues and the first important decision to be made by young people is the choice of profession. Most of them do not find it an easy task. An additional problem is the fact that the education system does not match the labour market, so a large number of young people have long been waiting   for work after graduation. Also, most young people are not sure how to choose a career: better earning and finding a job faster or dealing with what they like.

In order to help end-grade primary and secondary school students from Mrkonjić Grad, Srbac, Gradiška, Čapljina, Ljubuški, Konjic, Ugljevik, Orašje, Banja Luka, Mostar, Sarajevo and Brčko, to make the right decisions, the EU Info Centre in BiH has launched “Motivational days”. During October and November, students will be included in professional tests run by a psychologist on their affinities and preferences. In addition, this will be an opportunity to learn more about the BiH labour market, the perspectives of certain occupations in the country, as well as the current needs for specific professions in the European Union countries.

Tests and conversations within Motivational Days will result in occupational indicators which represent the best choice for students. However, the final decision will be made on their own.
