Local Integrated Development project: Public call for support in establishing new plantations and production of peppers

Within the of scope of “Local Integrated Development” Project ” (LID), public call was announced for agriculture producers from the municipalities of Gradiška and Novi Grad, to apply for support in establishing new plantations and production of peppers.

The Local Integrated Development Project is a three-year initiative (2016-2018) primarily financed by the European Union (EU) and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme in Bosnia and Herzegovina (UNDP in BiH), in cooperation with the BiH Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees, Ministry of Development, Entrepreneurship and Crafts of the Federation of BiH, Ministry of Administration and Local Self-Government of RS and two Associations of Cities and Municipalities. Project is being implemented in 21 local self-government units in BiH: Banja Luka, Bijeljina, Čelinac, Doboj, Foča, Goražde, Gradiška, Konjic, Maglaj, Modriča, Mostar, Novi Grad, Odžak, Orašje, Prijedor, Srebrenik, Šamac, Tuzla, Vareš, Žepče i Živinice.

The overall objective of the Project is to raise the standards of living and social cohesion in Bosnia and Herzegovina through inclusive and sustainable socio-economic development. Within the component for economic recovery, LID project will directly support the private sector and potential investors in order to increase the overall economic activity in local communities, ensure economic growth through productive value chains and to create new jobs and income. The project also provides assistance for the long-term unemployed and socially excluded categories of the population, especially returnees, internally displaced persons and long-term unemployed persons.

The primary goal of this public call is to provide opportunities to interested individuals from rural households from the municipalities of Gradiška and Novi Grad to submit their applications for the allocation of support for the plantation and the production of peppers in open field on the single areas of 20-40 ares per beneficiary. In addition to the package of support from UNDP, the selected beneficiaries will receive pepper seedlings, which they will pay back through the repurchase of peppers in 2017. Also, beneficiaries will get the continuous technical and advisory support for the commercial cultivation of peppers by the buyer.

Individuals who meet the requirements are invited to submit the application, including all required supporting documents listed below, no later than 28th of April 2017, 17:00 hours.

Applications may be submitted by mail at the office of UNDP BiH in Banja Luka, at the following address: UNDP BiH, Trg Republike Srpske 1/C1, 78000 Banja Luka.
