EU an honorary sponsor of the ninth Demofest in Banjaluka

As an honorary sponsor, the EU Special Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina is continuing to support Banjaluka’s Demofest, the largest festival of demo bands in the region.

“We are pleased to be able to partner again with the Demofest, a unique venue where young artists and bands can show their creativity and gain valuable first-time exposure”, said Ambassador Lars-Gunnar Wigemark, the EU Special Representative and Head of EU Delegation to BiH. “In addition, the Festival is recognised as a major cultural event in the region, attracting thousands of enthusiastic visitors. I am happy to see how it brings pride to the city of Banja Luka and BiH.”

For  the third time, the EU is extending its support to the organisation of a three-day Festival, which acts as an initiator of positive projects in the local community.

“We are proud that the EU Special Representative is again our honorary sponsor, recognising our mission of gathering youth through art and promotion of the diversity of cultural values”, said Brankica Janković, the director of Demofest.

Demofest is taking place from 21 to 23 July and will host numerous renowned music stars, such as Mando Diao, Sisters of Mercy and Dub Pistols, regional bands Bombaj štampa, Kolja i Grobovlasnici and Hladno pivo, as well as 30 competing demo bands.
