Info days of the Local Employment Partnership Project

The first in a series of the info days of the project “Support to the Local Employment Partnership in Bosnia and Herzegovina”, which is funded by the European Union (EU) and implemented by the International Labour Organization (ILO), will take place on Tuesday, July 19, at UN House, in Sarajevo. Info sessions of the project will follow in Brčko, Doboj, Mostar, Banjaluka and Bihać.

The aim of these events is to provide information to all potential applicants about the grants that will be allocated through the public call within this project.

The project is part of the wider EU initiative for local development and employment in BiH.  The EU funded the project in total amount of EUR 4 million, of which 3 million is foreseen to be distributed in the form of grants. The objective of the project is creation of new jobs and support to local development through institutionalisation of cooperation among the local key stakeholders. All municipalities and cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), can apply as potential applicants in partnership with public employment services, accredited educational institutions, enterprises, civil society organisations including local and regional development agencies, trade unions, chambers of commerce etc.

The info days will be organised according to the following schedule:

  • Sarajevo, UN House, Zmaja od Bosne bb., 19th July at 10:00;
  • Brčko, Omladinski Centar, Trg pravde 18, 20th July at 10:00;
  • Doboj, Gradska Sala (Bivši Dom Vojske), Cara Dušana bb, 21st July at 10:00;
  • Mostar, Hotel Ero, Dr Ante Starčevića bb., 25th July at 10:00;
  • Banjaluka, University for Business Studies, Jovana Dučića 23a, 26th July at 10:00; and
  • Bihać, Hotel Park, V. Korpusa bb., 27th July at 10:00 hrs.

“Local Employment Partnership” project is part of the EU Programme for Local Development and Employment which is funded by the EU in the amount of EUR 19 million. Three projects that operate under the Programme will be implemented by UNDP, GIZ and ILO, until January 2019, with aim to assist economic recovery of floods affected areas, support the local economic development and local NGOs with social development recovery assistance and provide structural employment enhancement measures through integrated local development.
