Head of EU Delegation and EU Special Representative in BiH, Ambassador Lars-Gunnar Wigemark met with Director General of Radio and Television of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Belmin Karamehmedovic and his associates, Mario Vrankic, Director of BHT1 and Lejla A. Babovic, Head of Department for international affairs in Sarajevo today. They spoke about the current situation of the public broadcasting service and freedom of media in the country.

Ambassador Wigemark pointed out that freedom of expression and freedom of media are major priorities for the European Union. EU believes that there is a strong need for public service broadcasters in BiH. He also expressed his hope that those responsible will understand the importance of strong public broadcasting in the country and will do their utmost to secure it.
