2015 was the first year in which the Regional Housing Programme (RHP) delivered housing solutions to eligible beneficiaries in larger numbers. All in all, more than 200 families moved in to new homes after 20 years of displacement and dire living conditions. And many more families will follow suit. Constructions works are now ongoing in all four Partner Countries and more than 1 800 beneficiary families have been selected by the Partner Countries.

In the first five months of 2016, the pace of RHP implementation accelerated and is now in full swing, capitalising on the valuable preparatory activities that took place at the Programme outset. This is indeed an encouraging period for the RHP, knowing that the current activities will translate into newly-constructed homes for thousands of vulnerable beneficiaries in the months to come. With the current pace of implementation, the number of housing units that will be delivered in 2016 is expected to triple compared to 2015.
