Presentation of the EU project “Local employment partnerships”

The International Labour Organisation (ILO) presented yesterday in Sarajevo the new three-year EU funded project “Local employment partnerships” aiming at promotion of sustainable, partnership-oriented active labour market policies at the local level.

The project is part of the EU programme for local development and employment, which represents continuation of some of the activities implemented under the Flood recovery programme in the area of economic recovery in the flood affected areas. It will also support local economic development and local non-governmental organisations.

The total value of the project, implemented by the ILO, is € 4,44 million, out of which € 3,3 million will be distributed in the form of grants to local communities in BiH.

Interested local governments, businesses, educational institutions, employment agencies and non-governmental organizations were invited to jointly prepare and nominate projects that would enhance job creation and institutionalized cooperation between these five actors.

This is the first in a series of 14 presentations that will be held throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina aimed to provide information about the project and to reach out to a wider circle of stakeholders.
