Public call for “Improvement of enterprise zones in FBiH” for 2016 launched

Within the scope of the project “Local integrated development” (LID), funded by the European Union and implemented by United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), FBiH Ministry of Development, Entrepreneurship and Trade launched a public call for the selection of beneficiaries for the Grant schemes dubbed “Improvement of enterprise zones in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina” for 2016. The aim of these activities is to support the improvement of infrastructure and the realization of potential of enterprise zones for the purpose of economic growth and employment at the local level. Beneficiaries of Grant Scheme may be municipalities and towns in the Federation BiH, alone or in partnership with other local governments and other public institutions, private or non-governmental sector.

Project proposals must reflect the development priorities of municipalities and cities, and contribute to achieving the main goals of Grant scheme:
•    The construction of municipal infrastructure in the enterprise zone (where the lack of infrastructure is an obstacle to business development);
•    Improving services for the development of enterprise zones as a factor for the growth of the economically locally.

The value of an individual project will be in a range from 100,000 KM to 200,000 KM. The cities and municipalities applying for a grant from the Grant Scheme, must ensure at least 25% of participation in project funding. The total duration of the project cannot exceed 7 (seven) months from the date of signing the contract, and the realization of the project should be completed by the end of March 2017.

The deadline for submitting proposals is (Friday) June 3, 2016.

Any further questions regarding this public call may be submitted by e-mail, no later than 7 days before the deadline for submission of proposals, on: zone2016@fmrpo.gov.ba.  All answers to the questions that are relevant to the other Applicants will be published on the website of the Federal Ministry of Development, Entrepreneurship and Crafts (http://www.fmrpo.gov.ba).

The EU funded “Local Integrated Development” project, will be implemented by UNDP over the three-year period (2016 to 2018), in partnership with BiH  Ministry for Human Rights and Refugees, FBiH Ministry of Development, Entrepreneurship and Crafts, RS Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government and two associations of municipalities and cities in the FBiH and RS. This project is part of a broader program of EU support to local development in BiH, which is implemented by UNDP, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and International Labor Organization (ILO).
