National Erasmus+ Information Day held in Sarajevo

National Erasmus+ Information Day in Bosnia and Herzegovina was held at the Rectorate of the University of Sarajevo on 11 November 2015.

The event promoted opportunities within Erasmus+ Programme, with special emphasis on presentation of the new Calls for Proposals in the area of higher education, including capacity building for higher education, international credit mobility, joint master degrees, Jean Monnet activities and other relevant opportunities in the area of higher education.

In his opening statement Massimo Mina, Head of Operations Section for Social Development, Civil Society and Cross border Cooperation in the EU Delegation to BiH, commended the country’s engagement within the programme.

According to the results of the call published under ERASMUS+ this summer, Bosnia and Herzegovina is the second ranked country in the Western Balkans region as far as the number of awarded projects is concerned and first ranked under the Jean Monnet action,” Mina underlined.

Mina explained that, in addition to higher education institutions,  the Agency for Pre-school, Primary and Secondary Education are also engaged in an eTwinning programme since January this year with  185 schools and 272 teachers  active at the platform up to now.

Suad Muhibić, Head of National Erasmus+ Office in BiH, called upon all higher education institutions in the country to use the opportunity and to participate in Erasmus+ programmes.

Representatives of higher education institutions and relevant ministries in BiH attended the event.
