EC Director for Western Balkans Paquet discussed reform priorities in the judiciary

Director for the Western Balkans at the Directorate-General for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations of the European Commission, Jean Eric Paquet, together with Head of the EU Delegation to BiH/EU Special Representative, Ambassador Lars-Gunnar Wigemark, today met the relevant authorities in charge of justice matters in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The meeting was attended by BiH Minister of Justice, Josip Grubeša, Deputy BiH Minister of Justice, Nezir Pivić,  FBiH Minister of Justice, Mato Jozić, RS Minister of Justice, Anton Kasipović, President of the Judicial Commission of Brčko District BiH, Safet Pizović, and the President of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of BiH, Milan Tegeltija.

They reviewed the state of play of the reform priorities in the judiciary, taking stock of expert discussions in the framework of the EU-BIH Structured Dialogue on Justice. The meeting also allowed discussion on how to bring forward key aspects of justice reform in line with European standards.
