Commenting on the approval of the Framework Agreement for the IPA II EU funds by the BiH House of Peoples last week (Wednesday July 15), Andy McGuffie EUD/EUSR spokesperson, said:

“The EU Delegation/EU Special Representative Office welcomes the approval of the Framework Agreement by the House of Peoples of the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as it paves the way for creating the legal basis upon which BiH can receive at least 165 million EUR of EU pre-accession assistance (IPA II).  We look forward to speedy ratification of this document by BiH: this would also allow us to mobilise the significant amount of EU-funds allocated for BiH to support further flood recovery and flood risk management. This would be an essential development, especially in view of the fact that more than a year has passed since the disastrous May 2014 floods, and Bosnia and Herzegovina will host, on 28 September 2015, the follow-up conference to the donor conference of July 2014.”
