On the 25^th of March  2007,  Europe celebrated the 50^th  anniversary of the Treaty of Rome, which marked the beginning of what became the European Union we know today. The EU institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina: EU Presidency, EU Special Representative, EUFOR, EUPM and the European Commission Delegation organised a variety of celebrations in Sarajevo.

The office of the EU Special Representative painted a Sarajevo tram in the colours and logo of the 50^th anniversary. The German Ambassador, his Excellency Michael Schmunk; the EU Special Representative, Dr. Christian Schwartz-Schilling; the EUFOR Commander, Rear-Admiral Hans-Jochen Witthauer; the Head of the EUPM, General Vincenzo Coppola; and the Head of the European Commission Delegation, Ambassador Dimitris Kourkoulas, rode the tram to a concert held in honour of the Anniversary.

The members of the the BiH Presidency – Mr. Nebojsa Radmanovic, Mr. Zeljko Komsic and Mr. Haris Silajdzic – and the Chairman of the BiH Council of Ministers, Mr. Nikola Spiric, were among the guests at the concert.
