Miroslav Lajcak visits Sarajevo

European External Action Service Managing Director for the Western Balkans and Central Asia, Miroslav Lajcak, said that he fully supports the priorities of the designated chairman of the BiH Council of Ministers, Vjekoslav Bevanda, pertaining to European integration and the economy, and that he is leaving Sarajevo in a much more optimistic mood.

“On the agenda were issues which are necessary for completion of the stabilisation and association process – adoption of Census Law, State Aid Law and credible efforts in implementing the Sejdic-Finci ruling. 2011 and 2012 BiH budgets need to be passed,” Lajcak stated.

He reiterated that the state is the partner for negotiations with the EU and the state must find a mechanism through which to speak with the EU on behalf of the state, entities and whole structure.
“It should be an efficient mechanism which will enable speedy approach to our aims. One should not doubt that the EU wants BiH to become its member,” Lajcak concluded.
