Better quality of all levels of education in BiH through the EU funded project

Beginning of the EU funded Twinning project “Strengthening Institutional Capacity of the Agency for Pre-primary, Primary and Secondary Education” was marked today in the ‘EU House’ (EU Delegation to BiH/EUSR) in Sarajevo. The ultimate goal of this project is to contribute to the better quality of all levels of education in BiH through reform of education sector and support to the BiH Agency for Pre-primary, Primary and Secondary Education in becoming fully functional institution.

The project will assist the Agency in improving institutional and human capacities of its staff and its internal organisation. Access to quality education will be ensured through the reform process where the focus is on: reform of the curricula, development of learning standards, implementation of external Matura.

Head of Operations section for Social Development, Civil Society and Cross Border Cooperation of the EU Delegation to BiH, Natalia Dianiskova, said on this occasion that indirectly the project will  improve the mobility of students inside of BiH and abroad and decrease the public expenditure in education sector.

This Twinning project is financed by the European Union from the Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance (IPA 2009) to the tune of 500,000.00 Euro. The project is implemented by a consortium lead by Zavod za školstvo in partnership with Državni izpitni center and Center za poklicno izobraževanje, Republic of Slovenia.
