Students, officials and business leaders on HoD/EUSR Sorensen’s agenda in Brcko

The Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Bosnia and Herzegovina/EU Special Representative, Ambassador Peter Sorensen, met with the authorities of Brcko District on Thursday January 31 to discuss the European integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina and activities of the District in that regard.

Emphasising that the two issues –  bringing BiH’s Constitution into line with the European Convention on Human Rights and the accession of Croatia to the EU – are  currently  of high importance , Ambassador Sorensen said: “On both these issues not only does the EU have high expectations of the leaders and institutions in BiH – citizens should too. A lack of progress on both these issues will mean stagnation for BiH’s integration and negative consequences for the economy and for society.”

Following the meeting with Mayor Domic, Deputy Mayor Kadric, Speaker Kojic, Deputy Speaker Ribic and Chief Coordinator Kojic, the Ambassador will also meet with representatives of the business community and students at the District’s Economic Faculty.
