Deputy Head of EU Delegation Renzo Daviddi on recent developments in the FBiH

The Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Renzo Daviddi, expressed his concern with the recent developments in the Federation and urges President Budimir, in agreement with the Federation Vice-Presidents, and the relevant political parties to ensure that the Federation will get a fully functional government as soon as possible. The relevant political actors in the Federation bear the responsibility in this regard, and their common goal must be to ensure that the Federation authorities are established in line with democratic principles. This will be essential if the Federation is to be able to agree on necessary political and economic reforms as well as on the key EU priorities.

In this context, it is also fundamental that the Federation quickly gets a fully functional Constitutional Court. President Budimir, in concurrence with the Federation Vice-Presidents, and subsequently the Federation Parliament have a clear constitutional obligation to ensure that the missing judges are proposed and appointed to the Court without any further delays in order for the Federation Constitutional Court to become fully operational as well as able to respond to the cases of vital national interest.

The Deputy Head of the EU Delegation, Renzo Daviddi, expects President Budimir and the relevant political parties to abide by standard democratic rules and not to obstruct the democratic processes and not to misuse constitutional mechanisms.
