Pocar and Karkalis held lectures at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Studies in Sarajevo

ICTY Judge and former ICTY president Fausto Pocar held lecture at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Studies of the University of Sarajevo on 4th March 2013. The lecture titled “ICTY legacy and challenges of its closure” focused on the history of the ICTY operations and its completion strategy in the light of the closure of the Tribunal and the opening of the ICTY residual mechanism.

Also in the Centre, on 5th March, European Public Law Organisation expert, Ioannis Karkalis, held a lecture on the European Court of Human Rights.

Students showed a great dose of enthusiasm for both presentations which were followed by an intense and dynamic exchange of questions focusing on transitional justice and reconciliation.

Judge Fausto Pocar and Ioannis Karkalis also participated in a TAIEX organised seminar on Law on Courts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
