Ambassador Sorensen supports Euromelanoma campaign in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Better skin health for all is the focus of the Euromelanoma campaign in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was launched this year by the Head of the European Union Delegation and EU Special Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ambassador Peter Sorensen . During the campaign, free medical check ups for skin cancer will be organised in 30 towns across the country.

Speaking at the  campaign  press conference held in Sarajevo on 15 April, Ambassador Sorensen stressed that 54 ,000  Europeans suffer from skin cancer every year. “World Health Association data shows that the number of new cases of skin cancer is 3-7% higher each year. I call on citizens to take this opportunity and visit dermatologists because free medical check ups can save your lives”, stressed Ambassador Sorensen.

HoD/EUSR commended BiH dermatologists who work together with their colleagues in Europe to promote prevention, self-checks and skin-protection.

This year, campaign will start on 22 April and will last until 26 April. This is 2nd year that the Euromelanoma campaign is being held under the patronage of Ambassador Sorensen.
