EU Diplomats visit Foca

The Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Renzo Daviddi, the Spanish Ambassador to BiH, Maria Aurora Mejia Errasquin, the Bulgarian Ambassador to BiH, Angel Angelov, the Head of the Belgian Diplomatic Bureau, Jean-Pierre Biebuyck, the Slovenian Deputy Ambassador, David Brozina, and the Second Secretary of the Italian Embassy, Ilaria Ragnoni, visited Foca in eastern BiH on Wednesday, 29 May 2013.

Following the meeting with the Mayor of Foca, the Deputy Mayor and the Municipal Assembly Speaker, Dr Daviddi stated: “EU integration is about the whole of society. It is about education, and about jobs, and about the economy and culture, and about agriculture and trade. We have been discussing today how the people of the Foca area, whether businessman, doctors, teachers, students or officials, are key players in the EU integration process.”

In addition to meeting municipal authorities, the diplomats also met with students of the Faculty of Medicine and visited Sutjeska National Park where they opened a new Tourist Info Centre. Through  the Instrument of Pre-accession (IPA) funds,  the European Union  has invested 350,000 Euro in the development of the Sutjeska National Park.
