EU diplomats visit Zvornik

Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr Renzo Daviddi, Swedish Ambassador to BiH, Frederik Schiller, and Croatian Ambassador to BiH, Ivan Del Vechio, visited Zvornik today to discuss EU related issues with local authorities.

Addressing media after the meeting with Mayor of Zvornik, Zoran Stevanovic, Deputy Head of the EU Delegation said the EU’s support for BiH remains strong and that the EU is working across a wide range of issues. “In the immediate future, we will be asking the competent authorities and civil society here to engage with us, well before the elections in October, in the development and implementation of concrete economic structural reforms that would begin to reinvigorate the economy and spur the creation of jobs”, Daviddi stressed.

EU diplomats also met with representatives of Bosniak Cultural Association “Preporod” and Association for Sustainable Return as well as Technological Faculty students. Speaking to returnees, the Deputy Head of the EU Delegation emphasised that the EU supports a full implementation of the Revised Strategy on Annex VII ensuring sustainable return of refugees across the country and is encouraged to see strong engagement of the Returnee and Cultural associations in everyday lives of Bosniak population.
