Through its Economic Recovery component, the EU Floods Recovery Programme will provide grants to individuals who have suffered property damage as a result of May 2014 floods, with the aim of helping them recover their economic standing in selected local administration units (Maglaj, Odžak, Domaljevac-Šamac, Orašje, Tuzla, Sanski Most, Živinice, Zenica, Srebrenik, Lukavac, Žepče, Bijeljina, Šamac, Doboj, Prijedor, Banja Luka, Modriča, Laktaši, Srbac, Šekovići, Vukosavlje, Čelinac, Brčko).
Each user will receive the following starting package for agricultural production:
1. A 200m2 greenhouse fitted with an irrigation system, planting material for greenhouse production of vegetable crops, and a fertilisation and protection package.
2. Package for the production of berries (strawberries – for industrial purposes and/or human consumption) on 0.1ha including planting materials, fertilisation and protection package, irrigation system and foil.
3. Package for production of vegetable crops (gherkins and/or peppers, depending on the area) on 0,1ha, including planting material, fertilisation and protection package, irrigation systems and foil for the production of peppers.
The applicant is expected to: provide between 2,500 m2 and 3,000 m2 of land on which to start production and a stable source of water; prepare soil for planting; and comply with professional instructions and contractual provisions. For the production of gherkins, the applicant shall be required to provide poles and mesh/wire.
During the entire process and duration of the Project the applicant will receive professional and technical assistance and training in accordance with good agricultural practices.
The selected applicant shall sign a contract with UNDP which will define his/her rights and obligations with regard to the grant.
The call is open to all individuals who meet the general and additional criteria and are ready to provide the above requested items.
