High Representative and EU Special Representative Valentin Inzko warmly welcomed the EU Foreign Affairs Council Decision to appoint Peter Sřrensen EU Special Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina from 1 September 2011.

“I welcome the prospect of a single EU representative and we will work together with one aim: to see BiH as a stable country, irreversibly on the road to EU membership” said Valentin Inzko today. “The reinforcement of the EU presence in Bosnia and Herzegovina will focus efforts to help the country make progress towards EU integration.” 

Valentin Inzko will hand-over his EUSR mandate on 31 August, and will remain focused on the implementation of the Dayton Peace Accords. Valentin Inzko remains the internationally appointed High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina with his mandate unchanged.
