The High Representative Holding Press Conference on Friday

Tomorrow, at 14:00 hours, the High Representative of the international community in BiH, Miroslav Lajcak, will hold the press conference in the OHR Sarajevo premises.

The High Representative is decisive in his intention that BiH becomes functional and efficient state, passing laws and working on development policies.

After series of meetings in Brussels earlier this week, and after the meeting of the EU member countries ministers of foreign affairs, which discussed the BiH failure to successfully complete police reform, it has become quite certain that BIH politicians have chosen isolation instead of integration, and that they have rejected European perspective of the country. That is devastating fact for this state.

The fact is also that this country has only Brussels perspective and that there is no alternative. The ways to achieve this in the newly developed situation depend more on mechanisms established by the Dayton Peace Agreement than on EU integrations.

At the press conference tomorrow, the High Representative, Miroslav Lajcak, will speak of what is yet to be done, and that is full implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement. There are many priorities in BiH deriving from this Agreement that have not been completely fulfilled. Over the past year, BiH has passed only three laws, one of them in relation to European integrations. This offers clear diagnosis of the current state of affairs in the state system that has to become fully competent.
