The Contract Award Ceremony for the projects awarded under the second call for proposals in the framework of the Cross-Border Cooperation Programme Serbia – Bosnia and Herzegovina took place om May 30 in Etno Village Stanisici near Bijeljina.
 
The total amount available by merging allocations for 2009, 2010 and 2011 for the projects under the second call for proposals was 4.68 mil Euro.

Upon conducted procedure, 16 projects were contracted out of which four in the area of economic development, four under environment, two projects in the area of social cohesion and six under exchange of people and ideas.

About 100 participants attended the Ceremony including representatives of the partners’ organizations, local communities and civil society organizations from both countries.

This event was organized by the Directorate for European Integration of the Council of Ministers Bosnia and Herzegovina and the European Integration Office of the Government of the Republic of Serbia with the assistance of the Joint Technical Secretariat for this Programme and support by the Delegations of the European Union to Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia.

The third call for proposals in the framework of IPA Cross-Border Cooperation Programme Serbia –BiH is expected to be launched until end of this year.

The overall objective of the Cross-Border Cooperation Programme Serbia-BiH  is support to the sustainable economic and social development, exchange of ideas and activities which are strengthening cooperation and solving joint challenges in the bordering areas.

Programme is implemented through the call for proposals which are jointly prepared and submitted by the partner organisations from both BiH and Serbia. In the framework of the first call for proposals of this Programme, 19 projects were funded in the total value of 2.6 million Euro.
